Kanji wada


  • 1-2 cup urad dal soaked over night
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1.5 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup sour curd
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 cup oil for deep frying
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder


take urad dal, salt , green chilly and blend it to smooth paste by adding some water if required.

Add red chilli powder and mix well,

Heat oil and make small pakoda with the batter and deep fry it.

Add it into a bowl of cold water.

Take mustard seeds and crush it with mortar pestle.

Make buttermilk with the curd by adding some salt and water.

Add the crushed mustard into the buttermilk .

Transfer the pakodas into the buttermilk and leave this for an hour or more to let the mustard leave its flavours.

eat it just like that. it is too soft and tender.
